Who is this Aanadhavalli?
Aanadhavalli is the goddess Lalita-Tripurasundari (Shodashi). Lalita-Tripurasundari (Shodashi) is one among the Mahavidyas (Great Wisdoms) or Dasa Mahavidyas. The Dasa Mahavidyas are as follows:
- Kali: The Eternal Night; The ultimate form of Brahman, "Devourer of Time".
- Tara: The Compassionate Goddess; The Goddess as Guide and Protector, or Who Saves.Who offers the ultimate knowledge which gives salvation(also known as Neel Saraswati).
- Shodashi/Lalita-Tripurasundari: The Goddess who is Sixteen Years Old; The Goddess Who is "Beautiful in the Three Worlds"; The "Tantric Parvati".
- Bhuvaneshvari: The Creator of the World; The Goddess as World Mother, or Whose Body is the Cosmos.
- Chinnamasta: The Goddess who cuts off her Own Head; The Self-Decapitated Goddess.
- Bhairavi: The Goddess of Decay; The Fierce Goddess.
- Dhumawati: The Goddess who widows Herself; The Widow Goddess,or the Goddess of death.
- Bagalamukhi: The Goddess who seizes the Tongue; The Goddess Who Paralyzes Enemies.
- Matangi: The Goddess who Loves Pollution; the Prime Minister of Lalita; ; The "Tantric Saraswati".
- Kamala: The Last but Not the Least; The Lotus Goddess; the "Tantric Lakshmi".
Ideally speaking she is omnipresent. However in this context Aanadhavalli is present in her physical form near Thiruvarur in Tamilnadu. The temple is called "Aanadhavalli Sametha Sree Agastheeswara Swamy Temple" which is in Semmangudi. The exact view of the temple can be found in the link given below.
How to Reach Semmangudi?
Semmangudi:-
28 kms from Kumbakonam , located in the Kumbakonam to Thiruvarur connecting road.
14 kms from Thiruvarur, located in the Thiruvarur to Kumbakonam connecting road.
Bus stop: Arasavanangadu / Uppukadai. (1 km from Semmangudi). Auto facilities are also available from Uppukadai bus stop.
